Scholarships

All students who receive scholarship awards must submit a request for the funding to be applied to the tuition and fee charges. The entire balance must be paid before the published payment due date as listed in the printed Registration Guide.

All scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year have been awarded. The scholarship application for the 2024-2025 academic year will open on January 1, 2024. The deadline for the Shelton State Community College, Alumni Association, and Foundation scholarship application for the 2024-2025 academic year is March 1, 2024, at 12:00 p.m.

Note: Students are encouraged to submit admission applications prior to February 28, 2024. Application processing may take up to 72 business hours to activate your myShelton email and Student ID Number (A#). After your application is processed, you can find this information on your application portal at https://sheltonstatecc.force.com/apply.

The 2024-2025 Scholarship application period will end on March 1, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. Please review the 2024-2025 Institutional Scholarship Application information below for items needed to complete the scholarship application and how to apply. How to login to your AwardSpring account:
Use Chrome or Firefox as the browser.

  1. Enter your myShelton email address and password
  2. Go to your myShelton email and find the “AwardSpring Password Reset” email. Click on “Reset Password”.

Shelton State Senior Adult Scholarship Program

Senior Adult Scholarship Program

Students meeting institutional admission requirements, who are 60 years of age or older, are eligible for the Senior Adult Scholarship Program, which covers tuition only. The scholarship can be used for transitional and credit courses. Scholarships are limited based on space availability.

Automotive Industry Scholarship

ACCS and AAMA (Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association) have an EXCELLENT opportunity that essentially pays for all tuition, fees and books for 50 students interested in the automotive manufacturing industry. A total of 40 college students and 10 high school students with a minimum 2.5 GPA will be awarded an annual $3,600 scholarship (split per semester) to pursue a technical education certificate or associate degree to prepare for the field. Perkins Scholarship

Apply now for the Perkins Scholarship with Shelton State. Numerous scholarships will be awarded. Interested students must complete the scholarship application, the College admission application (if not already submitted or enrolled), and plan to enroll in a nontraditional career as defined below.

The term Nontraditional Careers refers to occupations or fields of work, including careers in computer science, technology, and other emerging high skill occupations; in which individuals from one gender comprise less than 25 percent of the individuals employed in an occupation or field of work. The percentage of Career Technical Education (CTE) concentrators in CTE programs, and programs of study, that lead to Nontraditional Careers is a core indicator of performance for the Federal Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) accountability.

Female Nontraditional careers are occupations in which less than 25 percent of individuals employed are female.
Male Nontraditional careers are occupations in which less than 25 percent of the individuals employed are male.

The program and nontraditional gender needs to be listed on the website, along with items needed to complete the scholarship application.
