Gr Noida extends discount period on pending lease deed penalty till Nov 15

Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Authority has extended the period of 40% rebate on the total penalty on pending lease deeds of residential plots and constructed buildings till November 15 from September 30. More than Rs 200 crore of the Authority is stuck as premium and lease rent due to the pending registrations.
Of the nearly 3,300 flat and plot buyers, only a little over 300 have got their properties registered so far.

The remaining homebuyers now stand a chance to gain ownership rights till November 15. After that, they will be required to pay the due penalty or face cancellation of the lease deed in case of default.
Narendra Bhooshan, CEO of GNIDA, said that this is the last chance for homebuyers to avail the discount on lease deed penalties. “We have extended the period of 40% rebate on the total penalty of lease deed for buyers of the residential plots and constructed buildings (both flat and one-storey buildings) till November 15. The facility of paying the additional compensation and simple interest on the defaulted amount has also been extended till November 15,” he said.
According to the officials, more than Rs 200 crore of the Authority is stuck as premium and lease rent as a result of these non-registries. “We are facing problems with the outstanding premium amount and lease rent along with the stamp duty to the registration department as a result of this delay,” said Bhooshan.

Due to non-registration, allottees are also not able to get ownership rights of their properties. Also, after this, the Authority will not be able to offer such a huge discount. We will soon upload the list of allottees who have not completed the lease deed process on our website. I appeal to all homebuyers to get the registration of their properties done by November 15,” the CEO added.
For any registration-related assistance, homebuyers can call the Authority’s call centre at 0120-2336046-49.
